"3rd Herd" Prior To MFO Deployment (Ft. Lewis, WA)
As you know, I am a Veteran of the US Army.  This weekend is for you to relax and enjoy a well-deserved rest.  While we celebrate our Veteran's on another day, please bear in mind the following excerpt from About.com:

"Many people confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. While those who died are also remembered on Veterans Day, Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor ALL those who served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime."

Use the following links to find out more about this special weekend and why you should be thankful for the sacrifices made on your behalf.  We are not a perfect nation, but the blood of a few has been given so we can enjoy the freedoms we have.  Always Remember!

MEDAL OF HONOR PROJECT:
Please go to the following link (http://www.history.army.mil/moh/).  You will be able to choose the period in history you would like to know more about.  I would like you to pick one Medal of Honor winner from history.  Look through them carefully.  Once you have identified one Medal of Honor citation to work with, you will be required to post it to our Google Document that is Shared ( https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1lzv6J9whcPRm-g_A-Jp1uOtw_GlVObaFBJl9w3cULAM/edit?usp=sharing )

I would like you to add a slide to this presentation.  Make sure you find a picture of the person you found, a link to that person's citation page, and a thoughtful reason why you picked them.  I will publish this document for everyone to see so make sure your name and class period is on it as well.

Make sure you spend some time over the weekend remembering those who gave all for you to live in a country that is free and has opportunity that is found no where else!

Thanks for your time and effort with this project!
