Overview: The student will use what they know about keyboarding to create a story
Objective: To create a fun organized game while focusing on typing correctly
Materials: Computer and Music
Activities and Procedures: First divide the students into rows. Then the student is to compose a short story beginning with the same sentence dictated by the teacher. Some starting ideas are: The morning headline read… or the town was deserted. At the same time the teacher gives the sentence, the music starts playing. When the music starts playing the students finish the sentence and begin to build their short story. When the music stops, each student should move to the computer next to them. When the music starts again the students should continue the stories.
Conclusions: The students will be challenged to type quickly and correctly. This activity satisfies their keyboarding needs as well as there reading and writing needs.
